Fall Learning Options
Option #1 – In-person learning at school or the form of instruction currently being used (following the district Phases),
Option #2 - The Sequoyah HCS at Home option, or
Option #3 - Hamilton County Schools Virtual School.

We understand from concerns parents have shared that some are not comfortable with sending their student back to school at this time.  The district has developed an option called “HCS at Home” that will allow you and your child to be still connected to Sequoyah but learn from home.  With HCS at Home, teachers you are familiar with will connect with your student electronically through video lessons and Zoom discussions to keep your child moving forward and learning. 

Students signed up for HCS at Home will still be able to participate in clubs and athletics just like their classmates in the classroom.  AP and dual enrollment classes are also available.  HCS at Home students will follow the same schedule at home as they would on a regular school day at Sequoyah.

The learning at home process will work differently from our experience last Spring, as teachers and students will work together to learn new material and concepts with the same curriculum and pace as students in the classrooms. Attendance will be taken daily and students will be expected to participate during regular school hours, 7:30 am - 2:30 pm.

You can sign up for your Fall Learning Option on the Hamilton County Schools website at hcde.org.  Look for the Schools and Choice tab at the top of the page and then select the HCS at Home option.  Additional information can be found on the HCDE website with sample schedules and a video to assist you with the registration process in your PowerSchool Parent Portal account.  If you do not have an account set up, call our hotline at 423-498-5437 for assistance.

Half-Day Students - Partnership Program

In 2019-2020 Sequoyah launched a Partnership Program with our neighboring high schools to make CTE programming accessible for students who were interested.  Morning and mid-day transportation between the schools has made it possible for a student to attend both their zoned high school and Sequoyah for half-day at each location.
