Sequoyah High School

School News for 2019-2020

New Start Time for Sequoyah!

Sequoyah’s school time will officially change to 7:30 am start and 2:30 pm dismissal. This change in time will allow opportunities for more transportation and class choices for our current students and expand program opportunities for new students to attend Sequoyah from other North River high schools. The two main aspects of this transition for next year are:

1. Door-to-Door Transportation will be available for students who are zoned for Soddy Daisy High School, Hixson High School, Red Bank High School, and Sale Creek High School. Full day Sequoyah students who live in these school zones will be able to ride to their zoned high school, then take a transfer bus to Sequoyah. They will be able to return home in the same manner – ride from Sequoyah to their zoned school, then ride their zoned bus home. We believe this will promote better attendance and support for our students and families.

 2. Half-Day Partnership with Soddy Daisy, Hixson, and Red Bank will allow students to remain enrolled at their zoned high school while being given the opportunity to attend Sequoyah for half-day to participate in our programs. Likewise, some Sequoyah students may have the opportunity to take classes at our Partner Schools that we currently do not offer at Sequoyah.

Sequoyah has made great gains this school year and we feel the changes planned for next year will continue to support growth in academics and business partnerships.

Bus routes and additional information will be updated on the web site as soon as it becomes available. If you have questions or concerns please contact the school so that we can answer questions and assist you in this transition.
